Who is behind GoAheadAndBugMe?
Kirk Tubbs started out in Wildlife Biology and many years later found himself starting a mosquito abatement district from the ground up in Twin Falls, Idaho. He takes a biological approach to IPM and is always looking at the science behind the why. As a beekeeper, Kirk looks for ways to manage mosquitoes and public health effectively and minimizing the impact to the health of pollinators and people in the process. His work with larvacide for treat mosquitoes and blackfliles created a unique and effective management program in Twin Falls. Kirk left the abatement district in 2019 to spend more time with his farm and his family but still has a desire to use his knowledge to improve the mosquito industry. This site was born out of a desire to see good information and collaboration among mosquito control operators in Idaho and is heavily sponsored by Tubbs Berry farm and his family. If you have information to share or a question to ask please reach out!
